Goal

Remove optional VS Code configuration from the repository as requested.

Approach

Delete the tracked root .vscode files and ignore the root directory so local editor preferences stay local. Keep documented CLI development commands.

Acceptance criteria

Root .vscode files are no longer tracked.
Root .vscode directory is ignored.
Diff checks pass and the change is committed, pushed and submitted in a PR.

Notes

Editor configuration only; no runtime behavior changes. No runtime tests needed.

Delivery

Committed and pushed on editor-14. PR #15 is open. No tracked root .vscode files remain, ignore check and whitespace validation pass. No runtime changes or runtime tests.
